It is with deep sadness that we mourn the sudden passing of Adam Ballard, a dedicated community leader, mentor, and advocate for young people in Croydon. As the founder of Be Inspired and the driving force behind Gloves Not Gunz, Adam devoted his life to steering young people away from gangs and criminal exploitation, offering them real opportunities for change through sports, mentorship, and unwavering support.
Adam’s impact on Croydon cannot be overstated. His no-nonsense approach to tackling youth violence was rooted in action, not just words—focusing on initiatives that made a tangible difference. Through his work, countless young people found an alternative path, one that led away from danger and towards self-improvement, discipline, and hope.
For those who had the privilege of knowing Adam, he was a true gentleman—honest, humble, and deeply community-focused. His presence was felt not just in the initiatives he led, but in the countless lives he touched.
At Croydon Community Action Guardians (CCAG), we were grateful for Adam’s support and guidance as we established our school-time patrols. His encouragement and advice during our early days helped shape our work, and we will always appreciate the role he played in strengthening community safety efforts.
His passing is a profound loss, not just for those who knew him personally but for the entire Croydon community. His legacy of empowerment, mentorship, and resilience will live on in the many young lives he transformed.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Adam’s family, friends, and everyone whose lives he impacted. His presence will be sorely missed, but his mission and spirit will continue to inspire us all.
Rest in peace, Adam. Your work will never be forgotten. 💙
